Yoga for Teenagers

Have you considered the benefits of yoga for your pupils, or your child, who may be experiencing low energy and concentration levels? Starting September we are offering an online 10 week after school club

OUTCOMES, PUPILS WILL LEARN:
• Mindfulness techniques
• Breathing techniques to deeply relax and reduce stress
• A 5 min meditation to do anywhere 
 • To manage energy fluctuations to feel their best self

BENEFITS:
• Improve sleep and low energy
• Improve your ability to focus for studying
• Learn tools to manage stress & improve your mood
• Improve self esteem
• Yoga is a good form of exercise that will improve strength, mobility, balance and  stamina

CLASSES ARE 40 MINUTES. £60 FOR THE TERM. CLASSES WILL BE HELD ON ZOOM. PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU ARE FINANCIALLY AFFECTED BY COVID, I HAVE A COUPLE OF REDUCED FEE PLACES AVAILABLE.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN A YOGA CLASS
  • I will lead you through a series of poses like ‘Sun Salutations’ (see purple picture below) to warm up your arms, legs, and spine. After that, we'll concentrate on specific poses that work different areas of your body. We will then practice a breathing technique or a meditation, on other days we will look at cycle energies
  • At the beginning of the class you will need your camera & mic on, once we get started you will be able to turn off your camera, and everyone’s mic will be turned off until the end.

EQUIPMENT
  • Dress comfortably in clothing that allows you to move your body fully. Stretchy shorts/leggings and a T-shirt or vest are best. Yoga is practiced barefoot
  • A carpeted floor is fine, but if you have a yoga mat please give that a try.
  • Please check with your doctor if you are concerned about starting a new exercise program. And be sure to let me know about any health problems or special needs you may have before the course/class begins. I can provide modifications for poses for anyone who need them.

  • You need to be 16 or over to have an account so anyone under 16 will need to sign in through their parent's account

Safeguarding – I have an enhanced DBS, but children are welcome to have an adult within ear shot or with them
