AYURVEDIC CONSULTATIONS
ONLINE & IN PERSON

Ayurveda is a traditional system of medicine that originated in India over 5,000 years ago. The word "Ayurveda" comes from the Sanskrit words "Ayur" (life) and "Veda" (knowledge or science), meaning "the science of life."

Ayurveda focuses on balancing the mind, body, and spirit to promote health and well-being. It emphasises the interconnectedness of these aspects and aims to maintain harmony within the body, as well as with nature.

THE CORE PRINCIPLES OF AYURVEDA

THE FIVE ELEMENTS

Ayurveda is based on the belief that everything in the universe, including the human body, is made up of five elements: earth, water, fire, air, and ether (space).

These elements combine in the body to form three primary energies or doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.

THE DOSHAS

These three doshas represent different combinations of the elements and are thought to govern the physical and mental processes of the body:
  • Vata (air and ether) is associated with movement, creativity, and flexibility.
  • Pitta (fire and water) governs digestion, metabolism, and transformation.
  • Kapha (earth and water) is linked to structure, stability, and nourishment.
Each person has a unique combination of these doshas, and Ayurveda seeks to balance them to maintain health.

AYURVEDIC PRACTICES FOR HEALTH

LIFESTYLE & DIET

Ayurveda places a strong emphasis on personalised diet and lifestyle practices tailored to one's dosha and current health condition.

This includes food choices, exercise, sleep, meditation, and stress management techniques.

PREVENTION & LONGEVITY

Ayurveda is not just about treating illness but is also focused on prevention and living in harmony with natural cycles to promote longevity, vitality, and mental clarity.

HERBS & TREATMENTS

While Ayurveda often uses herbal remedies, its approach is holistic, aiming to treat the root causes of illness, rather than just symptoms.

Other Ayurvedic practices include
oil massages, detoxification methods (like Panchakarma), yoga, and breathing techniques (pranayama).

Hello, I’m Anna, an Ayurvedic Consultant, Yoga Teacher Trainer & Mentor, and Women's Wellness Coach based in North Devon.

With over 30 years of experience in the wellness field, I have spent much of my journey immersed in yoga, Ayurveda, and holistic health practices. After owning a yoga studio in London and teaching globally for 10 years, I am now based in Devon. My extensive training spans over 1,000 hours in Yoga & Ayurveda and more than 4,000 hours of yoga teaching experience, from private sessions to large scale events.

In addition to my Ayurvedic consulting, I am launching a unique 200-hour yoga teacher training programme, "Breaking Boundaries and Redefining Tradition." This course integrates the wisdom of Ayurveda with yoga, modern anatomy, and a deep respect for the female perspective in both practice and teaching.

My cultural roots (Indian, French, Scottish, Irish, Dutch, and Portuguese) have greatly influenced my approach to wellness. I blend ancient Ayurvedic wisdom with contemporary health practices to guide individuals toward balance, vitality, and overall well-being.

I invite you to join me on this journey of healing - strengthening from within and cultivating a deeper connection to ourselves, each other, and the planet.
